Affiliates: Don’t Destroy Your Internet Business
Featured Article By Joseph Tierney
It is very common nowadays to see people setting up affiliate review pages with outgoing links to affiliate products, then paying for visitors from Google Adwords. Even some people just send the visitor directly to the merchant’s homepage. And some (though few) have actually gotten a positive ROI (Return-on-Investment).
Let me tell you a secret, vendors (Clickbank, paydotcom, etc.) LOVE when you do this. You are sending them FREE targetted traffic that they don’t have to do anything for. How do I know? Because I am a Clickbank vendor myself! It is like getting something for nothing, who the hell wouldn’t love free targetted PPC (Pay-Per-Click) traffic to their sales page anyway?
This traffic in turn either converts to a sale (giving you a lousy ONE-TIME commission), doesn’t make a sale (losing you money), or converts as a LEAD (email signup) to the vendor. The email signup builds the vendor’s business, not yours. Sure, the cookie MAY stay in effect that was set when the visitor clicked from your affiliate link and you may get a sale a week or two later after the vendors autoresponder kicks in. However, this is not building your own internet business.
Your internet business depends on YOUR list, not the vendors. You are giving the vendor FREE leads to sell to now, and in the future. Imagine the amount of money you make the vendor in a 5 year period. All of their new products/affiliate products that they promote - they get the money for, not you. This is why you need to build your own mailing list and not send traffic directly to a merchant page.
Sure, it seems like it is hard to get people to give you their name and email, and you may have to test and tweak your squeeze page, but in the long run this is what will keep your internet business alive. Imagine the money that you can make by sending out your own/affiliate offers by having your own list. You can have a 7-day autoresponder series going out that is promoting an affiliate product. You don’t even have to have your own product, this is just like affiliate marketing sending the visitors straight to the merchant’s sales page, except it is the SMART way to do it.
The way I am currently operating now is using Aweber (best in my opinion), when the visitor opts in to my list, the redirect URL goes to my affiliate URL to the merchant’s page that I am promoting. Now, what I have done is collected my own lead, AND sent the visitor to the merchant page, perhaps getting a sale. Now I will be able to follow-up with this new lead in the future by an autoresponder, or by sending out broadcast emails whenever I want.
The possibilities are endless when you have your own mailing list. So right now, go into your Adwords/Yahoo/MSN accounts and pause your PPC campaigns that you have running. Get your squeeze pages built. Stop building the vendors business for him and build your own internet empire.

How To Write A Fast Selling “How -To” Report
Featured Article By Oluwafisayo
Reports are BIG money makers and just about anyone can create them. Quote me anywhere. I said that! In the next few minutes, I’ll show you how you can create fast selling reports that will bring unending streams of income to your bank account and fatten it FAST.
With the proper ingredients in place, your report can make you “filthy-rich.” The only difficult thing of course is getting the “nut and bolt” in place.
Reports usually are between 2 to about 40pages in length. Reports are not difficult to write. All it takes is that you have some specific knowledge in some core area of need.
Follow these steps and you’ll have a knock-out report that will sell like crazy in a very short time.
1. “How To” reports will out-sell any-other type because of its straight forward approach. Your goal is to pick up a core area of expertise, something you can do better than others, something you are sure people will be willing to pay for and develop it into a step-by-step information.
The goal is to look for a subject that has sales appeal. (Travel, Beauty, Money, Success, Health, Relationships etc)
2. Target Niche Markets. In these markets, you will find a concentrated number of people with similar interests, prospects, problems etc. These people when they come across something new or something re-packaged which solves their problems BUY and they buy in mass.
It makes a lot more sense to target these people instead of a general market.
3. Write as if you are talking to someone in front of you. Be clear, be factual. Go one step at a time. Use day-to-day conversational language.
4. Create a knock-out title. Truth is; 80% of the time, it will be your title that sells. The rest of the job will probably be done by your sales letter.
It is therefore worth the while to spend time on, and create titles that “stick”! For example, if you love to travel, you could come up with something like; “How To Get Cheap Air Travel Tickets”
5. If you face a brick wall and find out you just can’t put it down, you could hire a “ghost writer” to do the job. Get them at places like http://elance.com , http://freelancewriting.com
And here are 3 more excellent ways to write your fast selling report without lifting a pen.
1. Ask for articles from experts. (They are usually more than willing to send it in hundreds)
2. Interview an expert or a notable success in that field and turn it into a money making package.
3. Find out materials in public domain and use them as a basis to create your own fast selling report.
Once again, I affirm; writing a fast selling report is not difficult and just about anyone can do it!

Successful Forum JVs and How To Get Them
Featured Article By Diana Barnum
The forming of common alliances, also referred to as a joint venture (JV), happens nearly every day in the business world. One of the most popular means of linking people up online of so that they can work together on their projects is via forums, where people of all levels of business and expertise post in common threads.
Forum threads generally present tried-and-true methods of those who post, sharing tips about what works and what doesn’t so that follow readers don’t waste their own time, energy, money or hair-pulling on them. And the threads also often seek advice and helpful resources and tips from others. However, regardless of the focus, many people who interact on the forums often end up banding together in their common joint interests to help each other.
Here are several example of successful forum JVs and how to get them to work for your own projects.
Product / Service Creation
To earn income online, you need to have something to sell. It can be something of yours, an affiliate product, a product for which you have resale rights or some other income-generating strategy like Google Adsense pay-per-click.
How do you now if there is a market for your products and services? What if you don’t have anything to sell but want to get in the game? How do you SELL the products & services?
Head to industry forums for help with your questions. Once there, you may find someone with an ebook he or she created, for example, but needs help selling. In exchange for writing articles about the ebook to help sell it, maybe you could get an affiliate link and earn 50% for each purchase made through the links in your articles. Or maybe you’ll find someone else who would like to team up and co-author an ebook AND promotional package with articles; split the work and the profits.
Value Added Packages
Go an extra step and remember customer service and support. When people shop online, they do need support at times, too. And maybe your ebook teaches “how to …” do something, and could be enhanced with video tutorials. Through forums, you can often run into people who either provide services or have connections in the service industry. Service people don’t always have tome to write their own articles, so you could trade article writing - and submission services - for video creation to enhance your product line.
Marketing / Advertising
Many of the people you run into on forums have mailing and emailing lists, and a variety of other means of advertising and marketing - not only their products and services, but yours as well. That can add up to endless marketing strategies all year long; ad swaps, banner exchanges, article exchanges in ezines, print newsletters and in online article directories (think: link exchange, too, in the byline!) Also postcards, emails with sales messages, autoresponder series, reports, freebies - - all types of goodies to package and sell or pass along at no charge for viral marketing. Figure out what you can offer and see what others on the forums need. Connect!
“It takes a team!”
Sure it’s great to work from home. But successful people credit their successes most often to excellent team work. So get out there and meet your team by networking on forums. You’ll not only get a chance to learn some super tips on how to run your business better, reaping more rewards for your efforts, time and money, you might just put together some successful JV deals of your own in the process along with a super team to make your operations run in success-mode.
