Importance of Online Business Tracking

This article explains why tracking is very important for online business owner. You wll also discover several ways to best use a tracking script.

Any online marketing carries with it the risk of making mistakes – small and big. Tracking provides you with information on which parts of your business campaign has been successful and which hasn’t, along with the reasons as to why it failed. As with any Pay Per Click (PPC) campaign, typically site visitors will increase, sales shoot up and everything will seem to be going well. However, tracking your PPC campaign will provide you with better visibility and insight into your website and its inherent functionality. Then it becomes very easy for you to understand how your site visitors are using the website. No matter how good the site design, what determines future sales and strategic marketing campaigns, is consumer behavior on your site. Tracking helps provide you with these statistics.

What needs to be tracked on the site is largely determined by what you want to obtain from your PPC campaign. If you are selling products online, it’s natural you want more sales out of your site. With a service-based site, you want to know how many enquiries you’re getting from site visitors. An efficient tracking system can provide you with valuable information about how to refine your campaign to maximize ROI. To ensure your business goal is achieved, you need to track your PPC campaign and your site traffic behavior.

Nowadays several tracker software contain free hit counters to track one or many pages of your website, weblog or homepage. In search engines you need proof that repeated pay-per-clicks are not coming from the same user. When you get clicks from a place with which you have no existing business, then that will be considered fraud. As part of your marketing and promotional campaigns, you need to ensure fraud control.

Site stability along with site accessibility and operational stability is very important in a website. Having a prompt response to any crisis situation maximizes downtime and helps to ensure satisfied customers. Site monitoring and site alerts are essential for ensuring a sound tracking system. The use of several site-monitoring points eliminates any chance of getting false alarms. For example, when accessibility problems aren’t caused by your resource but are the results of improper connection between your system and the site. If an error gets detected, the system will keep ongoing checks on the status of the resource and when it’s accessible again, you get a message notifying you about its restored functionality and also about the duration of the resource’s unavailability.

There are several e-Book sites, which provide easily downloadable books in PDF or other formats. With such freeware available, site traffic is bound to shoot up. Thus, site tracking in such cases is an absolute must.

There are several tracking software which can accurately track every link on your website and tell you the exact number of clicks you are sending to an affiliate program or a promotional partner. They also give information on the accountability for the site traffic you direct to other web sites and affiliates. They also monitor internal links so you can keep track of your site visitors, which links they visit more and their behavioral patterns.

So, how can you go about tracking the effectiveness of the links on your site? Link popularity checker helps to quantify and measure your website links’ effectiveness. In layman terms, link popularity means the total number of links or “votes” that a search engine finds for your website. A website is a volatile place where pages and links are dynamic in nature. Hence, it is essential to ensure connectivity between links and a proper navigational flow. Dead link checker helps to identify dead links in your website and eliminate them. Equally important is to ensure that all live links are in order and fully functional. Live link checker helps to ensure this.

Banner rotation ensures a good flow of site traffic and generates high revenues for your site. It is essential to have more than one banner to promote each product. Once a site visitor sees a particular banner more than 3 times, he/she will typically ignore banners, which make their appearance repeatedly. If click-throughs are declining, then it’s a steady indicator that you need to rotate your banners more often.

Directories and link submission forms are very important from a search engine perspective. You need to submit your link to the appropriate category. Else, it will lose its significance and context. There are several rules and guidelines in place for link building and link submission which ensure that the submission and approval process is as smooth as possible. It’s essential to provide concise names for links to avoid excessive text. At all cost, avoid spam filled links and most importantly chose the right directory. Any successful link submission campaign will maximize your time so that you get listed in the most directories possible.

How to Track Your Adwords Campaigns for Free

This article exposes two free ad tracking tools you can use to track your Adwords advertising performance.

————————————
Featured Article by Robert Walter

What an exciting time it is to be an internet marketer. The internet has changed our lives so much these last ten years and it is revolutionizing the way we advertise. Before the internet it was very difficult to track the success if your advertising campaigns with any degree of accuracy. If you chose to advertise with tv, radio, billboards, yellow pages etc., it was impossible to track the effectiveness of your campaigns. In the past companies have spent billions of dollars on ineffective advertising due to the fact that they couldn’t track results accurately.

Now all that has been changing rapidly because of the growth of the internet and all of the advantages it has to offer as an advertising tool. There are many tracking tools you can use to track your online campaigns. I am going to talk about 2 that are absolutely free (if you have an Adwords account).

Google Conversion Tracker

It is available in your Adwords account if you set up a piece of simple code in your website. It will tell you what campaigns and keywords are getting sales, leads, or page views depending on how you want to track your visitors. An e-commerce store would probably define their conversion as a sale. When a customer buys something conversion tracker would track the sale and the keyword, ad group and campaign the sale came from.

A loans site would define a conversion as lead and Conversion Tracker would track who filled out the loan application and what keyword, ad group and campaign the conversion came from. A business that wanted traffic to go to a special page on their site would be able to track how many people went to the page and the keyword, ad group and campaign that produced the page view.

The second tracking tool we will talk about is the mother load of all free racking tools.

Google Analytics

A very powerful web analytics software. Google analytics gives you a lot of detailed info. It will track all of your campaigns not just Adwords campaigns. You can set it up to track natural search listings, Yahoo/Overture, other pay per click campaigns, referrals, banner ads, article marketing efforts, it will track pretty much anywhere you are receiving traffic from including offline campaigns.

It is easy to set up put a piece of java code all ready written for you by Google into the pages of your site. You will learn things like who is visiting your website and where are they coming from? US, Canada, UK?

How many page views is your site getting? How many visitors are leaving our site immediately? How many visitors are returning to your site? How many times are these visitors returning to your site?

It will also tell you which campaigns are getting the sales, and how long visitors are staying on your website. It can tell you which pages are drawing n your visitors and which aren’t.

Google Analytics will tell you all of this and much more. It will tell you what is working well and what isn’t with your website. You take this information and keep what works and tweak what needs some improving. Google Analytics is must have for a serious internet marketer and it is totally free. The drawback is the time you have to wait from signing up to finally getting your account. It took me about 2 months and my contacts have told me that although wait time can vary due to supply and demand, 2 months is about average.

What to Look for when Buying Resell Rights Products

This article reveals six important factors you should consider when finding profitable resale rights products to resell.

————————————
Featured Article by Patric Chan

There are 2 types of resale rights category – the low end and high end resale products.

There are some products that are bundled with the resell packages that are very useful and then there are others that are a waste of computer space.

For example, there are outdated pop-up generators and meta tag generators. Do you really think someone is going to buy a software that will create a few paragraphs of text for you? Only if you’re selling to those who have never buy any resale rights products before.

When I’m buying products to resell there are several criteria they must follow:

1. They must have a minimum suggested resale price.

I’ve seen time and time again products that originally sold well for $100 to $200 which are rendered totally worthless because the authors didn’t set a minimum price on their product.

For example, if one reseller gives a product away for free as a bonus for whatever reason then other resellers get discouraged because they think “how can I sell mine for $200 when he’s giving it away for free?”

2. They must be sold as a stand alone product.

Again, this is to protect the value of the product. If another reseller is including it in a package, I won’t be able to easily sell it for a high margin. However, if the product are allowed to be package with certain terms and conditions, then it’s a good buy because I can repackage it as well in my other future promotion.

3. I must be able to change the sales page.

I want to be able to change the graphics and add my own personality to the sales page. I don’t want to be restricted to using the same sales page as everyone else. The more I can separate myself from the crowd, the better. Also, being a testing maniac, I know I can always improve the response of any sales letter if I can change it.

Actually, I prefer buying products that don’t include a sales page. I know my competitors will be too lazy to come up with a sales page so I’m a winner already.

4. The product must not be old.

I don’t want to promote an outdated product. The newer the product, the lesser people have seen it. There are exceptions of course.

You can bring an old product to life by giving it a new sales page and graphics. Some older products may not be promoted anymore by people because they’ve dropped out of the spotlight. You can often get the resell rights cheaper for older products.

5. The product must be good.

There are many products that seem to be just a long sales letter for affiliate programs. They make their money mainly on the resale rights. Surprising but true, most people who buy resale rights to a product will not do anything with the product. They just want to have the ability to resell it when they want to.

The resale rights owner is in the clear because if his customers aren’t trying to sell the product then he doesn’t have to deal with complaints. I want to at least make my money back on the investment. If the product is crappy I will get a lot of refund requests. I make sure the product is high quality before I buy it.

Bonus Tip: I try to devise a plan to sell my resell rights product before I buy it. By devising a plan, I can just buy the rights and then put it to use right away to make my investment back. If I can’t come up with a plan for that product, I just won’t invest in it.

Tip #2: If you plan to buy the product, get the master resell rights if they’re available. This way you can sell the product and sell the resell rights as an upsell.

6. Get Customization Rights If Available

A few product owners will sell you the customization rights to the product. Whether you can sell the product or give the product away, you need to know when you should buy those customization rights and when not to.

People will value something more if they pay for it. The more they have to pay, the more they’ll value it. If you buy the customization rights to a free e-book you have very little chance to make money with the affiliate links inside the e-book. That’s because, people will not value the e-book enough to read it. Free information has a less perceived value than information that has a fee.

Another point to this is that when someone seeks free information, it’s more likely they won’t spend money on whatever product the free e-book is promoting. If you want to buy customization rights to a product make sure that the product can’t be given away.

The higher the price of the product that you’re buying customization rights to, the more likely you will make a commission on the affiliate links that you rebrand.

Judge for yourself if someone were to buy your customized e-book, will they value it enough to read it, and if they read it, will they buy the products that are promoted in the e-book. Do the affiliate programs in the e-book provide relevant and useful tools for the target audience of the e-book?

When you buy customization to a good e-book, and you sell that ebook, make sure to keep in contact with your customers so that you can get them to open up the e-book and read it. That’s a good way to get them to spend more money on the backend. If they don’t take any action then they won’t need to spend any money.

In conclusion, buying and selling resale rights products is definitely an easy short cut to make money online …. Provided you know how to select a good one.
